Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is a force to be reckoned with. She became the highest ranking woman in U.S. history when she was appointed to the position of U.S. Secretary of State in 1997 by President Bill Clinton. Before that, Albright was the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. If this wasn’t astounding, she became the first top diplomat to turn jewelry into a communication tool. It all began in 1993 when the Iraqi media referred to Albright as a serpent. The next day she wore this snake pin. The pin is an 18k gold snake coiled around a branch, with a diamond dangling from its mouth.
